MEET LEIGH-ANN LARSON
My Professional Journey
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Grief Educator, and founder of two multi-location mental health practices in Massachusetts, I've spent my career sitting with people in their most devastating moments — and watching them find their way through.
I came to this work knowing loss from the inside. Growing up as an adoptee, I understood early that grief doesn't always have a clear beginning, and it doesn't announce itself with a funeral. Sometimes it lives quietly in questions of belonging, identity, and love that doesn't have a simple shape.
And somewhere along the way, I started experiencing things I couldn't explain. Things that didn't fit the clinical framework I'd been trained in, but that felt undeniably real. My clients were having the same experiences — dreams that felt like visits, a sense of presence that stayed with them, signs that felt full of meaning but to anyone else were just a coincidence. I couldn't dismiss what they were sharing, because I wasn't dismissing it in my own life either.
That's how I became what I sometimes call a reluctant medium. Today my work lives at the intersection of grief education, contemplative practice, and spiritual openness. I lead community gatherings, workshops, and retreats for people learning to carry loss with more compassion and meaning.
My Approach: A Commitment to Transformation
My practice is deeply rooted in my core values, shaping how I approach healing, personal growth, and professional development:
Meditation & Contemplative Practice – Meditation is at the heart of everything I offer. Whether you're new to it or have an existing practice, I use guided meditation as a doorway into grief — a place to soften, to listen, and to feel connected to something larger than the loss itself.
Evidence-Based Grief Support– My work is grounded in research: neuroscience, attachment theory, continuing bonds theory, and trauma-informed care. I draw on EMDR — a gold-standard trauma treatment — to help process the deep emotional pain that grief carries in the body.
Spiritually Open- I make room for the experiences that don't fit neatly into a textbook — the signs that felt full of meaning, the dreams that didn't feel like dreams, the sense that love doesn't simply end. You don't have to leave any of that at the door.
Community-Centered– Grief shrinks in isolation and expands in connection. Everything I build is designed to make sure you're not doing this alone.
The Shifting Consciousness Framework
WHAT SETS MY WORK APART
Transformation happens in phases, each guiding you to a deeper understanding of yourself and a more aligned, purpose-driven life. My Shifting Consciousness Framework follows four key stages, leading you from awareness to full integration. This framework is at the heart of my work, guiding individuals and professionals to shift their consciousness, embrace personal power, and create meaningful change in their lives and careers.
-
FOUNDATION
The first step is understanding yourself at a deeper level. Here, you identify limiting beliefs, strengthen your intuitive abilities, and cultivate emotional clarity. This foundation creates the space for alignment and transformation.
-
BALANCE & FLOW
Once you have awareness, the next step is harmonizing your mind, body, and spirit. This stage focuses on clearing energetic blockages, connecting spiritual insights with practical tools, and aligning with your higher purpose.
-
PURPOSEFUL GROWTH
With alignment in place, you move forward with intention. This phase is about setting purposeful goals, using intuition to navigate challenges, and building resilience. Here, you take aligned action toward your vision.
-
INTEGRATION & TRANSFORMATION
The final step is full integration—where awareness, alignment, and action come together. You embody your transformation, operate with clarity and purpose, and empower others through your own growth.
You don't have to carry this alone.
The Grief Community is the best place to start — a warm, supported space for people learning to navigate loss with more compassion, connection, and meaning.
